Kinesiology
Kinesiology is the study of how the human body works and how it responds to the messages being sent by the brain. Indroduced in 1964 under chiropractic medicine, Kinesiologists sought to understand how things like length of stride, poster and limb mechanics related to different physical activities like dancing, gymnastics and other athletic endevours.

Kinesiologist examin injuries and physical ailments giving recommendations to clients as to what they may change about various positions and movements one may encounter in their day such as sleeping, sitting, walking and over all posture.

Clients of kinesiologists can be profesional athletes or Olympic hopefuls who want to understand the intricacies of their movements so that they can better achieve the perfect form necessary for world level competition. Kinesiologists help athletes with visualization skills known as "Imagery" letting the athlete learn to see his or her self from a third person perspective much like watching yourself on video. These techniques let the athlete fix any problems that may arise because they are able to see themselves and correct in mid performance.

Assisting Olympic athletes is not all that kinesiology is good for. Many with debillitating diseases find it an effective treatment of pain to learn proper motion skills, sleeping and lifting skills. Moving properly within the scope of what the human body is suppose to do is what teaching a kinesiology client is all about. How to move with more flexibility and more mobility is the goal.

There are some light hands on techniques used that assist in giving the client some pain relief immediately following the instructional movements. Many natural movements have become foreign to people in chronic pain or with injuries of muscular and skeletal natures. Learning these movements again properly is important to maintaining good physical activity in the future.
