Vermont Not Regulated
31 January 2011The AMTA tried to set things in motion for the state of Vermont, but they didn’t bite. I checked to see how many Massage Envy’s are in Vermont -only one. They tend to help the AMTA’s efforts in obtaining regulations in states that do not have them. That is one of the reasons I like Massage Envy. Not to worry the state of Vermont will come around, sooner then later.
Hospital Massage
19 January 2011This is great, I hope they get to use their tables or it is just asking for future broken therapists. Kaiser also offers Massage in house at their clinic/ hospitals but they are prescribed 1/2 hour and it is extremely hard to get in. Scheduling is at least 3 months out.
I guess it depends on how many therapists and if they take care of them by having the proper tools and compensation. However, the word is out. Massage is a good modality of health-care to have available to keep people healthy. There is no stopping it now, people are getting educated, and insurance companies are finding the benefits. More good news for the Massage Community.
INFORMATION AGE
12 January 2011Now is the time to make things happen. If you have good ideas for improvement, get it done. “If you wait until all the lights are ‘green’ before you leave home, you’ll never get started on your trip to the top.”
— Zig Ziglar
Our brains talk to us all the time. They are telling us to improve this or change that, if you don’t you will regret it… Take that CE class you wanted to take, schedule time now at the beginning of the year. Yes, and your vacation time so that you get some. If you are your own boss, make the time, or you will burn out and not get the education that is required of you.
Our work we do is flexible. We can be entrepreneurs, working on many angles of our business. Teach an ethics class at your college, write a book. What do you like to do, besides Massage, use your other skills as well. Help build and maintain the validity of our profession. Knowledge is Power and it IS the Information Age. Lets Share!
Sports ROM Table: Look Out!
5 January 2011I read this article from MassageMag.com and followed the link to the website. ROM-T Enterprises has the right idea, I would love one of these tables, especially if I were to go to sports events and offer my services. I was always wanting something like this when stretching my clients. If I didn’t love my stationary table I have in my office I would be tempted to buy this one to replace it.
The one thing I noticed was the statement that it is easy to release and replace the wings. It didn’t look so easy and the client still had to move or felt she had to move. Sports people wouldn’t mind moving but that is one of the things they point out as the reason they made the table.
Check into it. It’s worth it, enjoy.
