Friction Massage Technique

How often do you use deep transverse friction on a client with the explanation of what you are doing to stimulate tissue repair? According to Massage Today magazine, you may be practicing under the idea that “… a transverse direction to re-align the scar tissue from torn tendon fibers. [explanation is incorrect]… Today, we know that the primary benefit of friction massage is actually the combination of pressure and movement in stimulating fibroblast production, thereby enhancing the tendon’s healing process.”
