Massage Boundaries- More Time vs. Sticking to The Hour

14 July 2008

I was talking to a fellow MT about how she would feel inspired to give a little extra time to her client in their session. This was every once and a while, and then they would just expect every session to run longer.

If I have the time, I will go over the hour, but it is rear. Many times I am 5 to 10 minutes over but Never more then 15. Training myself to keep it at an hour is hard enough but when I don’t have a client right after the session I go over and sometimes that can be an inconvenience to the other people in my office. Should I run the risk of going over sometimes and have people expect it, or just stay at the hour mark and push aside inspiration.

The set time sounds better, but not listening to and acting on just a few extending minutes to help further relaxation and relief seems wrong. What do you think, more time or stick to the hour?
