Time Off for Business Owners

24 June 2008

Taking time off can be rewarding and frustrating at the same time. No matter how much extra you do before you leave there always seems to be a ton to do when you get back. So what do you do? Not go on vacation? Let your business run you? Oh, no, no, no…. Time off is essential, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. If your customers are loyal they will want you to take the time, they don’t want a stressed out therapist.

It is also tempting to forget your duties as a parent in regards to the vacation time when you are building your business but the opposite affect will take place, if you ignore them and continue to spend all your energy on work. Then the reason you work will no longer care for you.

Even if you don’t have a family, you just might never get the chance to start one if you are married to your work. Taking time for yourself is harder sometimes then you would think, especial if you are a work-aholic.

So the moral of the story is TAKE THE TIME OFF.
